Join Gaada for our next lunch time artist talk with Esther McManus

Gaada is delighted to welcome Esther McManus to give the next Lunch Time Artist Talk!
Esther makes books & comics that explore personal & collective relationships to history, often informed by archival research. She is interested in print's historical role in the production and distribution of knowledge, informed by a background in Risograph printing and self-publishing. She is the Print Production tutor for BA Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins, and has just started a PhD titled 'Under Construction: Representing Queer Archival Presence & Absence Through Comics'.
We first collaborated with Esther in 2021 as part of our programme Weemin’s Wark. Her contribution to We Axe For What We Want offered a personal response to the Up Helly Aa For Aa archive - experimenting with comics as a way to represent time.
Esther also visited Toogs Artist workshop in August 2025, spent time making in the studio and ran a wonderful all-day comic workshop.
