Brig∂i Residency

As part of the Brig∂i programme, Gaada invites Shetland-based artists to apply for a self-directed research residency in Bergen, Norway in 2026. This is a chance to explore new ideas, grow your practice, and build meaningful international connections!

Nordic Letterpress Network

2025

Gaada has been invited to take part the first exhibition by the Nordic Letterpress Network, which includes letterpress practitioners based in the Nordic Countries of Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland Islands, Orkney and Shetland Islands. The exhibition is taking place in Stockholm, August 2025.

2024

Norwegian artists Ann-Kristin Stølan and Fredrik Rysjedal spent a week in residence at Toogs Artist Workshop for the 2024 instalment of Brigði. Expect wild swimming, and graphic explorations of cramp/krampe!

Bri∂gi Island + Gazette

2023

A one week residency for Oslo based artist Miriam Sentler (DE/NL), which culminated in an exhibition Brig∂i Island and newspaper edition Brig∂i Gazette bringing together historic sightings of the famous Shetland sea-monster Brig∂i (aka the Basking Shark).

Bri∂gi Collaboration Day

2023

Oslo based artist artist Miriam Sentler (DE/NL) led a collaborative day of work with Shetland Artists under the collective banner of Brigði: A bridge of Plankton Blooms & Basking Sharks.
