Gaada is delighted to welcome Jen Hadfield to give the next Lunch Time Artist Talk!
Jen Hadfield is an award-winning Shetland Poet and Visual Artist based round the corner from us here in Shetland. Jen was amongst the Shetland writers, artists and community groups who Gaada commission in 2021 to respond to the lifelong project Shetland by Numbers by Shetland Botanical hero, the late Walter Scott.
Jen’s publication Kokkilorie emerged from this period, a beautifully presented book which offers the reader a microscopic poem or gentle instruction for each day throughout the month of June. Kokkilorie is the Shaetlan word for Daisy - the plant whose bloom peaks in the same month.
As June approaches, Gaada will invite you to join us in sharing a daily response to the prompts within Hadfield's Kokkilorie. Watch this space for information about how to get involved throughout June - there will be no limits on medium or style!
