Yule Work Share + Artist Lunch

As the clouds redden in the winter sun, we invite you to join us for a day of warmth and sharing between Shetland artists, taking place at the Toogs Artist Workshop, Burra.

12.00 - Shared Artist Lunch

Lunch will be Soup, Fresh Bread and Fancies. Gaada will provide the soup (vegan and gluten free) and we invite each participant to bring fancies, bread, cheese or your favourite dish to share!

Unlimited tea and coffee will be available.

When you sign up below, please select an option to let us know what you’d like to bring to the shared lunch.

1.00 – Activity

Together, we will carve designs into lino blocks while exchanging tales of winter rituals. The session will culminate in both individual and collective prints. Think of a parade of Skekklers or burning heather printed in warm shades of madder lake, sunflower yellow and lamp black.

No experience is needed. You will be guided through the full process, and all tools and materials will be provided.

2.30 - Work Share

As is now a firm tradition, you are encouraged to bring along a piece of work or spark/idea - it can be new or old, just something that you feel comfortable sharing with the group. The discussion is always friendly, respectful and encouraging!

We will bring the Yule Work Share to a close with warm drinks around a fire* and the chance to cast hopes for the year ahead into the flames, or place them within a specially built sin-eater to help purge secrets before the new year.
