Cameron Morgan artist workshop

Gaada recently had the pleasure of hosting artist Cameron Morgan in the Toogs Artist Workshop for a day of etching and risography.

Cameron is a prolific multidisciplinary artist who has been working with Project Ability since 1991. He is a self-taught painter, muralist, ceramicist, photographer, gardener and hillwalker!

Gaada first met Cameron way back in 2019 whilst on a research trip to Project Ability through Creative Scotland’s Go See Share fund. Then last April Gaada and Project Ability supported a collaboration between Cameron and Shetland artist Elie Coutts in a textiles based exhibition Critters Creepers Crawlers, Sprouting Solitary Soarers which was shown by each organisation in Glasgow and Shetland.

Cameron’s latest project aims to draw inspiraton from the Shetland isles for a whole new body of work. He brought a lightsome and fun energy to the workshop, inspiring us all with his seemingly endless creative stamina. It was exciting to explore the workshop’s brand new RISO with Cameron, with his colourful drawings depicting some of Shetland’s most treasured historical sites.

Cameron will be giving a talk at Project Ability in Glasgow on the 5th of May about his visit to Shetland. You can also read more about his visit online at Project Ability’s website:
