Artists' advice from LUX Scotland

Gaada will host LUX Scotland Director, Kitty Anderson for an afternoon of one-to-one artists’ advice sessions.

LUX Scotland offers regular free one-to-one advice sessions for artists based in Scotland working with the moving image who are no longer in full-time education. These are informal sessions with LUX Scotland staff aimed at developing a wide-ranging dialogue around your practice and can involve any or all of the following areas:

– Looking at and discussing your work

– Advice on developing your practice and looking at other works that may be interesting in relation to this

– Advice on exhibition possibilities, appropriate organisations and events to approach

– Self-promotion advice

– Funding advice

– Production advice

Sessions usually last for approximately 30 minutes, you are welcomed to bring work to look at on DVD, or USB pen drive (although we would advise to not bring too much) plus written material such as practice descriptions.

When / Where ?

Sunday March 13th, midday to early afternoon in-person at Gaada Workshop in Burra.

Who can apply?

  • You must be a Shetland based artist who works with moving image in some way.

  • Priority will be given to those that have not had a LUX Scotland advice session in the past 12 months.

  • Please do not book unless you are sure you can make it.

How to apply?

Spaces are extremely limited so artists will be selected at random from a pool of applicants. This is to ensure everyone gets an opportunity to put themselves forward and equal opportunity to receive a one-to-one advice session.

A live draw will be broadcast on Gaada’s Instagram on Wednesday 9th of March, after which all applicants will be notified by email.
