Open Call: Peer Group signup 2021/22

Peer Group is a supportive space for Shetland artists to share, discuss and develop their practice. Sign up and get involved in our new block of sessions.

Peer Group is a space created by artists for artists (including those of us who are feeling unsure about the label “artist”)! Each group provides a mutually supportive space that centres around sharing and speaking about the things we create. It is an inclusive and respectful space that helps to build confidence in ideas, aspirations, and each other. Peer Group is a growing network of durational relationships within Shetland’s artists community that continue beyond the programme, sprawling out into Shetland’s creative landscape.

Peer Group 2021/22 includes:

Work Shares

These are small, focussed sessions for 6 people to meet at the Gaada workshop in a mutually supportive space to share work, research, and ideas. Once you have attended a Work Share you can attend future Peer Group Member Meet Ups! Sign up info here

Artist Talks

Gaada regularly invites artists from across the UK to share their work, projects, and ideas over Zoom, to be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home. Artists are invited in response to the conversations we have with Peer Group members. Artist Talks are free and open to the public.

Member Meet-Up

These are relaxed, drop-ins at Gaada, open to folk who have attended Work Shares in the past – no need to sign up! This is a time for you to stop along the workshop, share what you’ve been up to, keep in touch with Gaada and meet others from the growing Peer Group artist network. Think of this as a sounding board space - you can take along work to share or just stop along for a chat.
