Shetland + Glasgow Artists Collab

An exciting new project from Project Ability and Gaada pairs Glasgow based artist Cameron Morgan with Shetland based artist and designer Elie Coutts.

Gaada was invited by Project Ability to commission a Shetland based artist to collaborate with Cameron, a self-taught painter, muralist, ceramicist, photographer, gardener and hillwalker! After careful consideration, we suggested Elie Coutts on the strength of her amazing embroidery and painting works which we had recently encountered during Gaada’s latest Peer Group programme.

Connecting via Zoom, the artists will share work and their interests to find common ground and adopt a theme to work to. The outcome is open - it could be paintings, prints or works on fabric - or Elie and Cameron might come up with something completely different! The project culminates in two exhibitions of collaborative works which will go on display in Shetland and Glasgow in the Spring of 2022.

We will be sharing more as the project develops over the next few months.

Big thank you to Project Ability, for commissioning the project and asking us to get involved!
