Gaada Awards at VISION 2025, UHI Shetland

Last week, we were delighted to take part in VISION 2025, Shetland UHI’s end-of-year exhibition celebrating the creativity of students across the Creative Industries department.

As part of the opening night on Friday 6th June, Gaada presented two awards for emerging talent in the visual arts. Each award offers two free places on a public workshop, supporting early-career artists in continuing their creative development. The recipients were:

  • Estella Smith – BA (Hons) Fine Art graduate

  • Kieran Cowan – NC Art and Design Portfolio student

It was a genuinely uplifting evening and felt like a real positive moment in Shetland’s art scene — with UHI Shetland, Shetland Arts, and Gaada all coming together to make awards that celebrate and support the next generation of graduate artists.

The VISION 2025 exhibition runs until 20th June, open weekdays with late openings on Weds 11th & 18th June. Don’t miss this vibrant showcase of Shetland’s emerging talent.
