Vivian awarded Freelands Foundation Studio Fellowship

Vivian Ross-Smith, The Island is The Gallery, 2021

Gaada is very proud to share that our friend and artist Vivian Ross-Smith has been awarded a prestigious Freelands Studio Fellowship.

This amazing opportunity will see Vivian relocate from her home of Shetland to take up residence at Swansea College of Art to undetake a period of sustained development alongside which Fellows will engage with current students, supporting staff in undertaking workshops, crits and tutorials as well as having the opportunity to deliver at least one artist’s talk … They will work towards a solo exhibition, housed by their host university, and will then participate in a group exhibition, at the Freelands Foundation space in London, that will take place in the spring of 2024.

Whilst we are very sad to lose Vivian, who has been a key part of Gaada’s team since 2020, we are also incredibly excited for her to start this new chapter and cannot wait to see where it takes her!

You can follow Vivian in her new journey via Instagram at @vrosssmith and her website.
